Sailboard National Title Report

In Sailboard News, St George Sailing Club

The St George Sailboarders achieved excellent results at the Raceboard and Formula Nationals in Brisbane in January 2018. A great time was had by all members catching up with fellow sailboarders and representing the club.

Results in the Raceboard Class

Justin Lord finished 3rd overall in a fleet of 29 winning 5 of the 15 races contested and 4 of these on the last day in a solid 20knot breeze. Justin also won the heavy weight division.

Keith Single finished 9th overall winning the Veterans division and was 3rd in the heavy weight division.

Conor Coleman finished 12th overall which is an excellent effort considering the length of time he has been sailing.

Steve Newman was 13th overall and 2nd in the Veterans division and Jorn Krohnke 27th overall.

In the Formula raceboard class

Rick Murray was a creditable 4th overall winning the Veterans Division with Wayne Bowness 7th overall and 2nd in the Veterans division.

The St George Sailboard team was again the standout in the fashion stakes with many comments made regarding our club team shirts which we greatly appreciate.

Many thanks to the Club and the Board of Directors for providing the shirts and for their continued support for Sailboarding.

Anyone wishing to join our Sailboard division should call down on Saturdays at lunchtime and speak to our Organiser Keith Single or contact the club sailing manager Brad Andrew.
