Moth Race report 10/2/18.

A light forecast and other commitments left just 4 moths at the start line on Saturday. This was a shame, as the sun was shining, the tide was coming in, and a lovely 8-12knot Easterly was building nicely. Glamour conditions for Moths.

Race 1 saw all 4 boats hit the line reasonably close together for a slow and shifty beat out of the river. Greg Kennedy rounded the top mark first with a slight lead over Chris Eddes and Phil Stevenson. Bruce McCloud  was struggling to foil with his repaired bow sprit.

Greg extended his lead downwind and was never challenged winning the race by a fair margin from Chris and Phil.

Race 2 and the breeze was slowly building. Chris this time got a great start and rounded the top mark first from Greg then Phil. Greg soaked a little lower on the downwind leg and took the lead from Chris at the final gybe. He rounded first and then extended his lead up the next 2 beats before winner again by a reasonable margin from Chris and Phil.

A great day out for a sail.
